Blog #2: Plato, a philosophy thinker!

"The strong  and courageous should become soldiers, those who skilled with their hands should become artisans and laborers, and those with wisdom and virtue should become leaders. Plato believed this assigning of appropriate roles encourages citizens to lead a good and just life and to serve the society as a whole." - In his thought, he wants the government should be ruled by people who have good virtue and love wisdom. In other way of saying this, he wants talented people (no need to be wealth, gender,.. just talent) rule the government. Folks who are skilled with what they are good at, will be arranged in a job they are skilled with. He thinks education is very important for people, people should learn how to be good citizens. The ideal is, he thought if a government ruled by folks that have good knowledge and wisdom in each of the people; the country will be power in justice and wealthy in freedom.

"Plato rejected both democracy and autocracy in favor of creating his own ideal society, which he describes in The Republic." - He doesn't want either any party above. Demo means people, this means that anyone can rule the government, "tragically inadequate" type of government, what if a guy who have good  philosophy ideas but have no idea with mathematics and economics of the country, how will he be able to manage the country. Autocracy, unlimited power ruled by one person or others, dictatorship, a government can't be ruled by a person or others who make decisions based on self-interests. Besides these two types of government, Plato think Republic would be the best type of government, the state would unified and self-sufficient. People will be put to the best position for which nature prepared for them. All children are the property of government, also they must be loyalty and obey to their government rather than their parents. Rulers will live communally and own no property for the good of anti-tyranny.

So, according to Plato's belief, the role of people in the government is basically for the good of others. People must be part of the government, which means they must obey and loyal to the government. They won't have a chance to do what they like to do, it's pretty much the government will arrange everything in their life.
